Lingfield, 15:48 - Back Qitaal E/W @ 14/115.00

Seven-year-old gelding Qitaal makes each-way appeal for Charlie Johnston in this mile-and-a-quarter handicap. The son of Iffraaj, who is seeking a fourth career win, is returning from a 187-day break under Callum Shepherd.

On debut, Qitaal finished third to New Kingdom in a Haydock novice event, and has since finished first and third in his respective reappearance efforts for his current trainer. He beat Stressfree at odds of 14/115.00 at Doncaster on his return to action in 2024, following a 687-day absence, and finished third in the same race to City Of Delight last year, when rated 88.

From a mark of 81 here, dropping in class, the gelding could put in a bold bid and is one to consider based on his record fresh. He makes appeal at the weights and shouldn't be discounted from only 2lb above his last win, having been competitive from a much higher rating since then.

Limerick, 16:25 - Back Rubi Tuesday E/W @ 20/121.00

Handicap debutante Rubi Tuesday is an interesting contender in the penultimate race at Limerick. Trained by Eoin Christopher McCarthy, she could be able to improve on her previous efforts from an opening mark of 92.

The daughter of Soldier Of Fortune is a sister to Redstone, who beat now 144-rated King Of Kingsfield on hurdling debut, and is a half-sister to Grade Three winner Kilbarry Chloe, as well as winners Kilbarry Calling and Kilbarry Cushty. She's out of Kilbarry Gem, a half-sister to multiple Grade Two winner Racing Demon, who placed at Grade One level behind Kauto Star.

With class in the family, there could be plenty of improvement to come from Rubi Tuesday, who makes only her fifth start in this race.

She finished a decent seventh to subsequent Listed winner Celestial Tune on bumper debut at Listowel, with recent Thurles winner Lennon Grove only a few lengths ahead in fifth. Shellrunforbriggs, a convincing eight-length winner of a maiden hurdle since, was back in eighth and is now rated 102, whilst Are You Around, a close second to now 109-rated Insouciant Dallier in a Sligo maiden when last seen, in ninth.

Rubi Tuesday has failed to make a significant impression in three hurdling starts since, but has shown glimpses of ability, including in a Cork maiden won by top class Flat performer The Reverend at the turn of the year.

An intriguing runner in this race, Rubi Tuesday is one to note each-way and could be able to improve plenty on her previous starts to date.
