Chepstow, 15:32 - Back Knight Of Allen @ 10/34.33

Knight Of Allen could be worth keeping the faith in despite being pulled up at the Cheltenham Festival when last seen. He had previously chased home Holloway Queen in heavy conditions at Newbury, with the winner going on to significantly frank that form.

Back on a sounder surface over a shorter trip, the six-year-old is one to note holding solid claims for Jane Williams. He is 5lb higher than when winning over fences in December, but makes only his sixth start as a chaser, capable of showing further improvement.

There could be plenty more to come from the son of Masterstroke, and this could suit him well.

Chepstow, 16:07 - Back American Land E/W @ 10/111.00

Joe Tizzard-trained American Land began to show progression at the beginning of last term, shaping with promise behind Celtic Dino before going on to win successive races in handicap company during November.

The eight-year-old returned from a mid-season break to record his third success of the term at Taunton, following wind surgery, before winning both of his subsequent races at Newton Abbot, including in a higher class contest in his penultimate start. He's only 3lb higher than that here, dropping in class, and could shape better than when on reappearance at the same venue in October.

A likeable performer on a workable mark, American Land could be worth keeping onside under Brendan Powell. He enjoys a sounder surface, has proven form over this trip, and was in good order this time last year, therefore has enough in his favour to put in a bold bid as he seeks a sixth career success.

Kelso, 16:15 - Back Dedicated Hero @ 2/13.00

Making his first appearance following wind surgery, Sandy Thomson-trained Dedicated Hero should have enough class to pose a threat in this field. He must defy top weight to win, but has shown talent against tough opposition during his career so far and can make his presence felt if the recent operation has had the desired effect and he can bounce back from his latest run.

When last seen, Dedicated Hero was sent off at odds of 7/18.00 for the competitive Morebattle Hurdle. He was equipped with first-time cheekpieces and travelled well into the race before weakening quickly, failing to sustain his effort when pulled up. He was unlucky to unseat in his previous race over fences, having finished a slightly unlucky second to subsequent Cheltenham Festival winner Meetmebythesea over the larger obstacles at Ayr.

The seven-year-old has shaped with potential over fences but has been seen mostly over hurdles to date, including when fifth in a Listed novice event at Perth last term following a Grade Two success at Haydock, and is well handicapped if on a going day from a mark of 121.

Southwell, 17:48 - Back Mr Lightside @ 4/15.00

Mick Appleby is represented by a couple of runners in the second race on the card at Southwell, and both make appeal as they have been luckless in recent outings.

Mr Lightside finished third to stablemate Counsel when last seen at Wolverhampton, running well over the 5f trip. He can be effective over 6f too, and the step up in trip could see him to better effect this time around.

The son of Earthlight is well treated from a mark of 79 on the best of his form, having been competitive in Listed company previously. Things haven't panned out favourably for him over the past year or so, but his latest run was promising and he could take another step forward from it.

Southwell, 17:48 - Back Way To Dubai @ 4/15.00

Way Of Dubai is another to consider for the yard on the back of a narrow defeat at Lingfield over 7f. He's dropping back slightly in distance but is clearly in good form currently and is on a workable mark from a rating of 69.

Only 4lb higher than his latest success in January, the seven-year-old has been running consistently well in recent months, bar a disappointing effort at Wolverhampton, and should put in another competitive effort under Harry Davies.
