Goodwood 15:10 - Dutch Connection

Dutch Connection ran his best race yet when finishing runner-up in the Group 1 Prix Jean Prat at Chantilly last time and he looks to have been found a good opportunity, the return to seven furlongs unlikely to pose a problem for this strong-travelling C&D winner. Recent Godolphin purchase Toormore is likely to pose the greatest threat, but Dutch Connection has already achieved a similar level of form and may yet have a bit more to offer, so he gets the nod.

Goodwood 15:45 - Battersea

Battersea travelled well for much of the way on his seasonal return in the Old Newton Cup but found less than looked likely, shaping as if the run was needed, and he ought to be a different proposition with that outing under his belt. Battersea did well to win two ultra-competitive handicaps at Ascot last season and, still lightly raced, there's scope for further improvement this term, particularly over this kind of trip.

Goodwood 16:20 - Double Up

Double Up looks destined to make his mark outside of handicaps in the near future and he can notch a fourth win in five starts. The rapidly improving Double Up absolutely tanked through the race at Ascot last time, hitting the front with ease and decisively beating the horses on his side, and a 5 lb rise in the weights is unlikely to stop him, bearing in mind his progressive profile.
