Timeform suggest three bets on this evening's card at Kempton...
A claimer isn't an obvious place in which to suggest a bet but the 19:00 at Kempton this evening is where we start, with Beauchamp Xerxes fancied to add another AW win to his CV. The seven-year-old is the pick at the weights even prior to taking into account Ryan Tate's handy 5 lb claim and, whilst he clearly isn't the force he once was, a return to the form he showed when winning at Wolverhampton on his penultimate start would see him go very close here. Mandy's Boy is the obvious danger if managing to translate his turf form onto this surface but that isn't a given and the best option looks to be Beauchamp Xerxes.
Araqella, a sister to the high-class Group 1 winner Aqlaam, made the perfect start to her career when taking a Yarmouth maiden just over a fortnight ago and it would come as no surprise were she to defy an opening mark of 69. She faced just the two rivals at Yarmouth but the second, Hi Filwah, set a fair standard and has run well in defeat since, so there is some substance to the form and Araqella herself looked a promising sort. Her sire Oasis Dream boasts a superior strike-rate on the AW when compared to his progeny's record on turf, and it is hoped that Araqella can enhance that statistic here.
Our final selection comes in the closing event at 21:00 where Ryan Moore teams up with father Gary with Lybica, who showed promise in a trio of maidens before making a good start in handicaps at Sandown in July. That form has a solid look to it and Lybica suggested that she had an even bigger performance in the locker when granted a greater test of stamina, which she gets tonight with this contest being held over an additional two furlongs. That should play to her strengths and, though a number of her rivals are open to improvement, Lybica is the one we want on side the most.
