The second race at Nottingham (14:50) is a competitive nursery but the in-form David O'Meara team could strike again with the unexposed Snow Cloud. Snow Cloud has made just the two starts, but he has shown ability, putting up a much improved performance to get off the mark at Redcar, having more in hand than the winning margin would imply. He very much appeals as the type to progress further with racing and he starts out in nurseries from a mark that may underestimate his potential. 

Shalimah confirmed debut promise when getting off the mark at Goodwood last time, and he looks to have been allotted a fair opening mark on his handicap bow in the 16:25 at Nottingham. Clive Cox's juvenile was easy to back on debut, but did offer something to work with, keeping on in encouraging style in the closing stages, and he duly showed improved form at Goodwood as he overhauled the odds-on favourite, showing a good attitude under pressure. Stamina seems to be a strong suit for Shalimah and he is expected to relish today's nine-furlong trip.

Clear Mind was a relatively cheap purchase for her powerful stable but she has shown plenty of ability, shaping with promise on debut before winning at Lingfield in July, and looks capable of scoring on handicap debut in the 19:55 at Kempton. Clear Mind enters this sphere on a lenient-looking mark, still completely unexposed having made just the two starts, and is in the hands of an excellent trainer, so she has to be respected. She has had a bit of a break since shedding her maiden tag, but lack of fitness is rarely an issue for horses hailing from the Gosden yard, and Clear Mind is worth supporting.
