Indian Daudaie recorded a Timeform performance rating of 111 when second at Worcester last time and can go one better this afternoon in a four-runner Novices' Chase at Fontwell (15:25). Indian Daudaie, one of the Timeform Betfair Racing Club horses, has shown useful form over hurdles at his best and should be capable of winning one of these types of contests sooner rather than later, having shaped with much more encouragement last time, jumping well in the main and sticking to his task. The drop in trip looks unlikely to inconvenience him, and today's race looks a good opportunity for him to get back to winning ways.

In the staying handicap chase for veterans at Cartmel (15:50), it's worth taking a chance on John Wade's General Hardi. He ran as well as he ever has when second at Perth on his return from a 16-month absence in May, travelling and jumping well, and doesn't look at all badly handicapped. A thorough stayer, General Hardi will be well suited by today's test, and he can add to the stables's two winners in the last week.

Asterales is a clear pick on form in the selling handicap at Ripon (19:10) and is worth backing to beat a fairly modest field. The way she finished her race when third at Chepstown last time, having been short of room in the home straight, was impressive, and suggested there may even be more to come from Willie Musson's five-year-old mare. Operateur is likely to develop into the biggest danger, but he's not the most consistent and there are question marks surrounding some of the others.
