Another Try still looks on a handy mark in Lingfield's 16:00, whilst Bapak Bangsawan is likely to give it a good shot from the front on his return from a break, but the one we want on side is Meridius, who improved on his first start for this yard when second in a C&D maiden in June and returned to that level on handicap debut at Nottingham the following month. He has to put a pair of below-par efforts behind him but it is interesting that he races in first-time blinkers here and he remains relatively unexposed.

Miguel Grau hinted at ability when trained by Marco Botti last season but, when fitted with blinkers, he made an emphatic start for new handler Roger Varian when running away with a Wolverhampton maiden earlier this month. That was a weak contest but an opening handicap mark of 67 doesn't strike as being particularly harsh and there is every chance that the three-year-old, a half-brother to US Grade 1 winner Pool Play, could yet have more to offer.

Our final selection comes in the 19:10 on this evening's card at Kempton with Havelovewilltravel, who defied inexperience to make the perfect start to his career when taking a C&D maiden last month, fancied to keep his 100% record intact. At the time it didn't look a strong race but the next five home have all improved to some extent since, with two winning on their next outings, and Havelovewilltravel clearly boasts potential for improvement with it being likely that a mark of 65 underestimates her.
