Al Furat won at Redcar last season, travelling extremely well during a fourteen-furlong contest before sprinting away from his rivals with relative ease, and he returns to the Yorkshire venue this afternoon interestingly dropped in trip. Al Furat shaped well on his seasonal reappearance over a mile and a half at Doncaster last time, travelling like the best horse in the race before getting tired late on and eventually finishing fourth. He is Timeform top-rated for the 15:10 this afternoon and looks the one to beat, if he copes as expected with the drop to nine furlongs.

Bosun Breeze was a runaway winner on Saturday and, if today's race doesn't come too soon, the David Barron-trained runner should be capable of defying a penalty in the following race at Redcar (15:45). Bosun Breeze has won two of his last three starts (finished second on the other occasion), producing a career-best at Musselburgh last time, and a repeat of that form will be enough to see him follow up today.

Authoritarian looked unlucky when stopped in her run last week and can follow up with a victory on just her second start in handicap company at Yarmouth (17:05). Authoritarian raced three times in maidens before her handicap bow and she improved for the change of company despite getting no luck in-running. The step up in trip to a mile is also likely to lead to further improvement and Authoritarian can land the prize for Richard Hannon, who has been in excellent form this last month. William Twiston-Davies takes the ride this afternoon, taking 7 lb off our selection, and the pair should go close at rewarding odds.
