We kick off proceedings with a handicap from Ripon over an extended nine furlongs (14:55) and the vote goes to Tower Power. He showed a fair level of form in all-weather maidens and produced by far his best effort to date when runner-up in a minor event at Nottingham a fortnight ago. What was particularly striking was the manner in which he fought back having conceded first run and although he's not encountered this ground before, he looks to be well-placed to make an impact in handicaps and if he can build on his last performance he is a good bet to make a winning debut in this sphere. 

We head to Brighton next for what looks a tightly-knit handicap over ten furlongs (15:40) and most look to be arriving in good order. However Aint Got A Scooby's placed effort at Newmarket looked to be in a more competitive race than this, and it's at this stage in the season he's done well in the past (won at Epsom last Spring) so conditions look to be at an optimum. The likes of Cravat and Evervescent look to be dangers but if the selection can progress from his run last time he may have too much in the locker for these. 

Our final bet of the day comes from Yarmouth in another ten-furlong handicap (18:25) and Elizabeth Coffee looks to have found a good opportunity to get back into the winners enclosure on the flat. She ran well at Ayr on her reappearance to take fourth and has since won a selling hurdle at Stratford, and with Jamie Spencer booked today she looks well-handicapped on the pick of her form. She doesn't come without her issues (she's blind in one eye) but if there were to be a bit of rain before this evening she looks an excellent value alternative to the favourite and should run well.
