We kick off proceedings with a staying handicap at Beverley over two miles (15:30) and the one to keep on side looks to be the sole three-year-old in the line-up New Tarabela. He showed plenty of ability in maidens and made a smooth transition to handicap company when placed at Sandown and Haydock the last twice. Both those outings came over a mile-and-three quarters and on soft ground and he's very much given the impression the extra distance he encounters today will be right up his street. If cheekpieces have the desired effect he looks by far the most unexposed as a stayer and in receipt of a healthy weight allowance it would be no surprise to see him win comfortably. 

We head to Yarmouth for the next contest under consideration, a handicap over an extended 11 furlongs (18:50) and a chance is taken on Semaral to gain compensation for a narrow loss when last seen. She only just failed to get up at Lingfield on the all-weather on that occasion and although you will find some with more consistent profiles, she's done much of her racing on either side of today's intermediate trip, and as a result remains capable of improvement. She does have a 7 lb rise to contend with on the back of her valiant efforts last time but given the demands of this contest might arguably see her to better effect, she looks a decent bet. 

We head back north to Thirsk for our final bet of the day, which comes in a six furlongs conditions race for three-year-olds (19:40). Given how well Angel Flores shaped with regards to coming back in trip on her Carlisle reappearance, she is taken to capitalise on a more suitable distance in this contest. She travelled strongly for a long way before finding the extra yardage beyond her on that occasion and she is well worth another chance to show that she's back on a dangerous mark. Native Falls merits respect as he looks a horse firmly on the upgrade at present, but the selection looks to have conditions at an optimum and is expected to capitalise.
