Tuesday's Timeform SmartPlays come from Wolverhampton and Southwell...
Yours Ever (15:15), trained by Sir Mark Prescott, made a pleasing return at Kempton a week ago and is taken to get off the mark at the fifth time of asking. The three-year-old, out of a Group 3 winner over a mile and a half, showed promise in maidens last year, running well at Kempton and Newcastle, and her effort on Southwell's fibresand is likely best forgiven. Further improvement is almost certainly on the offing, and Yours Ever can get us off to a flying start.
Wolverhampton's 17:15 is the scene of our second selection, with Gazboolou taken to gain his first win since August of last year, that success, incidentally, coming over C&D. The eight-year-old had had just three starts for current trainer Henry Candy, the change of yards initially not looking to have had the desired effect but, on his latest appearance equipped with a first-time tongue tie, the signs were much more encouraging. Gazboolou travelled strongly, having been dropped out, before being badly hampered early in the straight at Warwick and having no chance subsequently. He finished with running left there, and is very much one to keep an eye on today.
Course specialist Carnac looks to have a solid opportunity of gaining a fifth win at Southwell in their final event at 21:05. Numbering among the six-year-old's quartet of victories on the fibresand are two at this distance, including his second-best effort in the UK in April of this year. Carnac was never able to land a blow on his most recent appearance, when sixth at Doncaster, but he is clearly more at home on this surface and is the one to beat.
