We kick off proceedings with a handicap over a mile from Hamilton (14:45) and Last Destination looks to have an excellent chance. He's not won for almost a year but has dropped to a very handy mark and there were definite signs of encouragement at Beverley last time. He came second in a bunch finish but looked a lot more willing than his losing run might suggest and if he's able to put in a similarly gutsy performance this afternoon, he's more than capable of taking advantage of the leniency shown to him by the assessor at a track which he's run well at before. 

We head south to Brighton for the next contest under consideration, a handicap over an extended 11 furlongs (16:00) and a chance is taken on Red Passiflora to defy a penalty after her Lingfield success on Saturday. That was on her seasonal reappearance and you feel she'll come on for the run, and providing she proves as effective on turf she has a good chance to notch up a quick-fire double for Sir Mark Prescott. He's proved himself as adept a trainer as any with these rapidly progressive types and although he's had a delayed start to the season, now might be the time to catch his string. 

We return to Hamilton for our final bet of the day which comes in the concluding six-furlong handicap (17:15) and Spoken Words is taken to build on the promise she showed at Beverley last week. It may take a bit of a leap of faith given she's a career maiden in over three years on the track, but she ran a blinder for new handler John Riches in a handicap over a furlong shorter on her latest outing. She came from the last position of twelve to finish runner-up and was never nearer than at the winning post, suggesting the step back up to six furlongs should see her to even better effect.
