Timeform's SmartPlays team brings you three selections from Warwick and Hamilton.
Kicking off with the 15:40 at Warwick, Diala is fancied to get firmly back on track in this listed event. William Haggas' filly was never able to land a blow when last seen in the 1000 Guineas, eventually coming home eleventh. However it is her two excellent efforts in 2011 which really ought to be considered in the context of this race: her debut second behind subsequent Group 1 winner Lyric of Light represents some of the strongest 2-y-o form of last year, and she quickly confirmed that when readily winning next time at Newmarket, merely pushed out to win by four lengths. With further improvement still likely she rates an exciting prospect for this season and looks well up to making a significant impact at this level.
Later on the same card, veteran Jake The Snake should make a bold bid to complete a hat-trick of wins in the 16:40. Now only 3 lb higher than when he belatedly opened his turf account in a six-furlong Goodwood apprentice handicap 12 days ago, this 11-y-o gelding will have no problems with the step up to a mile and can continue to make the most of his recent purple patch.
Finally, Parlay can give backers a good finish to the day in the Hamilton 20:20- weather permitting of course! This daughter of Street Cry posted a good effort when third at Newmarket five days ago and holds decent claims of getting her head in front today given that she races off the same mark. Trainer Mark Johnston boasts a 21% strike-rate at the course, and Parlay is fancied to add to that tally.
