The opening race at Plumpton (14:30) is a warmer juvenile hurdle than we've become used to in recent months, perhaps a sign of the changing seasons. Nellie The Elegant, Fennann, and Officer Drivel all offered encouragement one way or another on their respective debuts over hurdles, but a couple of interesting recruits from the Flat probably have claims which are stronger still. German recruit Russian Bolero is the preferred option over Seamus Durack's four-time winner Jarlath.

The staying handicap chase at 15:30 also exceeds modest expectations. Hinton Indiana arrives in form but looks vulnerable in his hat-trick bid after being hit with a massive 16 lb rise for his latest Sedgefield win. With My Lad Percy now out, Green Bank is taken as the most likely to benefit. He's dangerously well treated after a series of below-par efforts and may be worth chancing to bounce back at a time of year when his yard tend to sweep all before them.

Jewellery (17:00) continued her resurgence over hurdles for Victor Dartnall when striking for the second time inside a month at Fontwell recently and may take some stopping if her jumping comes up to scratch now going chasing. Rebel High, Isthereadifference and Famousandfearless are all capable of taking advantage if that doesn't prove to be the case.
