All four can be given a chance in Brighton's 15:00 but the vote goes to the steadily progressive Simple Joys, trained by Andrew Balding, on her handicap bow. The three-year-old, from the family of the high-class stayer Yates, didn't show a great deal on her first two outings but put up an improved effort when second in a maiden at Winsdor on her seasonal return in June. She was no match for the winner that day but it did qualify her for a mark and it is expected that she will progress further with this trip expected to suit. 

Brighton's 15:30 could turn into a tactical affair, which won't suit the thriving course specialist Beacon Lady dropping back in trip. The assessor has had his say after Curly Come Home's C&D success and it may be best giving another chance to Soryah, who floundered in the mud at Ffos Las last time having looked a filly to keep on side when scoring at Epsom in July. The choicely-bred Qawaafy also has a claim.

Gabrial's Gift (16:35) isn't the most consistent but arguably hasn't had things pan out for him since scoring at Chepstow in June, and he can get back to winning ways with Jim Crowley back in the saddle. Jinker Noble was a good winner at Windsor after a long absence last time and cannot be ignored, along with C&D winner Bosham.
