Leicester 12:40 - Stellar Notion

Stellar Notion starts life over fences with the look of a well-handicapped horse and he can make a winning chasing debut. The expensively-purchased Stellar Notion looked a nice prospect when taking a Bangor bumper on his Rules bow, and he bolstered that impression when proving successful over hurdles at Newcastle, appearing value for more than the winning margin. He failed to maintain his unbeaten record at Doncaster but only found the exciting Un Ace too good, and there should be plenty more still to come.
 

Leicester 13:45 - The Ould Lad

Tom George is also responsible for our second SmartPlay of the day as he saddles impressive last-time-out winner The Ould Lad. The Ould Lad had shaped well on his first start of the campaign at Huntingdon, showing an aptitude for chasing, and he improved upon that effort to run out a ready winner at Warwick, jumping well in the main and looking in control from a fair way out. He's got an 8 lb higher mark to contend with here, but he's an improving type with few miles on the clock and can take another step forward.

Carlisle 13:55 - Ifandbutwhynot

Useful hurdler Ifandbutwhynot came home last on his chasing bow here but heavy ground over two and a half miles was never likely to see him to best effect, and he can put up a better showing with conditions now in his favour. Ifandbutwhynot's jumping largely improved as the race wore on last time, and he should derive tremendous benefit from that outing. An improved performance is on the cards and he may prove tricky to beat.
