We kick off proceedings with a handicap hurdle over an extended two miles from Market Rasen (14:30) and given Pass Muster confirmed his well-being when scoring on the flat at Musselburgh last month, he looks the best bet. The sharp right-handed test that this track provides will be right up his street and he won't be short of speed, in fact he won a jumpers' bumper on the all-weather during the course of the winter. He may strip a good deal fitter than some of today's rivals and given he's clearly in fine form of late it would be no surprise to see him make it back-to-back wins. 

We head north to Ripon next for the fillies' handicap over six furlongs (15:40) in which Bondesire gets the nod. She looked like one to follow when powering home over five furlongs at Beverley last month on her seasonal reappearance, continuing her fine form from 2013 when she was successful three times. Two of them were here and she clearly likes the course, and given handler David O'Meara has proved himself as effective in handicap company as any trainer so far this season, she's taken to continue her winning run off just a 4 lb higher mark than when we last saw her. Iffranesia also won last month and looks the main threat, but the selection may just have too much class for her rivals. 

We remain at the Yorkshire track for our final bet of the day which comes in a valuable handicap over a mile (16:10) and the one to keep on side looks to be Yeager. He shaped really encouragingly on his return to action at Lingfield last month having been gelded over the winter and looks the type to build on the promise he showed last summer. He was twice a winner on the turf last year, including on his handicap debut at Ascot, and although he lines up off a career-high mark today he looks sure to be in the mix if he's come on for the run last time. It is a competitive contest with the likes of Capo Rosso and Osteopathic Remedy fancied to make the frame, but the selection is capable of significant further improvement and is expected to show it here.
