Salisbury's Cathedral Stakes, a listed event over six furlongs at 16:00, is a fascinating event, with Our Jonathan, Definightly and Eton Rifles the trio to focus on given that they are all at home on a softer surface. Of that threesome, it is Our Jonathan that appeals as the most likely winner, and is taken to follow up his easy reappearance win with further success here. The five-year-old didn't need to improve to win at Haydock, but he looked to have something in hand when beating Regal Parade by three-quarters of a length, with subsequent winners Markab and Medicean Man further back in the field. Our Jonathan is a relatively short-price, currently trading at 2.6613/8, but he has an excellent chance of success.

Icy Blue has been shaping as if a return to form is imminent, and is taken to get back to winning ways in Doncaster's 16:40. Trained by Richard Whittaker, whose last three runners have all won, Icy Blue was victorious twice over seven furlongs last August but is now just 3 lb above his last winning mark. The four-year-old was below form on his first three starts of 2012 but his latest start, when fourth at Haydock, was far more encouraging, travelling well but not seen to best effect having been held-up in a steadily run affair. Icy Blue's best form has come on ground good or softer, conditions he will encounter today, and he can bag career-win number three.

The unexposed pair Saratoga Slew and Rivas Rhapsody stand out in this field, and the former is taken to reverse the form with the latter named rival from when they met at Newbury last month. Giving 2 lb to Rivas Rhapsody and beaten just a length and a half, Saratoga Slew did best of those held-up after the early pace had been on the slow side, whilst Rivas Rhapsody raced close-up, and it would appear to be just a matter of time before she gets off the mark. Receiving a 1 lb from her main rival today, Saratoga Slew ought to be able to gain compensation for that defeat and get her head in front.
