The step up in trip to an extended ten furlongs looks bound to suit Knight Owl and he can take the 15:35 at Doncaster. James Fanshawe's gelding went into plenty of notebooks following a strong finishing effort over eight and a half furlongs at Beverley, shaping like a horse capable of producing a better performance, and he ought to improve faced with a greater stamina test. He remains relatively lightly raced, unexposed over the trip and could prove to be a lot better than the 70-rated performers he faces today.

The Richard Hannon-trained Professor is progressing sharply and he should be capable of registering success in the 16:00 at Salisbury. Professor started his three-year-old campaign with an encouraging effort in defeat at Newmarket but he improved on that when impressively landing a seven-furlong handicap at Ascot prior to quickening decisively to win a listed raced at Haydock. It is Professor's turn of foot that has really caught the eye of late and he seems to have been winning with a fair bit in hand. He remains capable of better and should keep the winning sequence going.

Leitrim Pass looked unlucky not to win on his return in a minor event at Kempton last time and should go close in the one-mile handicap at 17:45. William Haggas' unexposed colt travelled very well at Kempton, looking a real danger before encountering a bit of trouble which necessitated him switching to make his challenge. He finished extremely strongly, despite the gallop not being as strong as ideal, and he remains open to plenty of improvement.
