Even without any fast-progressing 3-y-os, the 14:50 at Ascot looks a competitive race. However, some value can be had in the shape of Rock A Doodle Doo. His splendid record on polytrack (4 wins and a a second from 5 starts) perhaps masks the fact that he's simply a horse with more to give and, having been fourth in a C&D race last year, William Jarvis' gelding can go close to winning again.

We're sticking at Ascot for our second selection, namely Yeeoow in the 15:25. A belated winner of a Kempton maiden on his reappearance, Yeeoow showed what he's all about when runner-up to Es Que Love at Pontefract last time. Only one other horse got within seven lengths of Yeeoow that day, and a rise of 4 lbs surely sits towards the very bottom end of what he achieved. This race clearly isn't shy of competition, but Yeeoow can win again on his way to high-level handicaps.

A maiden with nine runs under their belt mightn't be the most obvious type for a tip, but in the 16:10 at Newton Abbot Diamond Eclipse may just represent value. Placed on his last four starts, Diamond Eclipse is continuously shaping like a horse capable of winning off a BHA mark in the low-90s. Indeed, The Boss, who was third at Worcester on his last start, has shored up the form since and few in Sunday's race can match the potential improvement that Diamond Eclipse has.
