Timeform UK SmartPlays: Sunday July 13

"Able Deputy has really got his act together as a result of Tony McCoys’s urgings in recent times and can complete a four-timer..."

It's all about summer jumps on Sunday as Timeform advise their three best bets from Stratford and Perth...

We kick off proceedings with a handicap chase over 22 furlongs from Stratford (14:50) and Papradon could well capitalise if afforded a soft lead early on by his opponents. He's a front-runner who jumps with metronomic accuracy at his best and showed his current well-being with a fine second at Ffos Las recently. He won three times last Summer and there don't look many in the opposing field who could peg him back should he shoot off in front; Friendly Society and Bracken House merit respect if capable of putting in a clear round, but the selection is taken to make every post a winning one and get us off to a profitable start.

We head to north to Perth for the next contest under consideration, a novices' hurdle over an extended two-and-a-half miles (15:35) in which Handmaid looks the biggest improver in the field. He won a bumper at Worcester before making a successful hurdling debut at Bangor in May off the back of an absence. He was held up in a messy race at Southwell last time and looks the type to improve for this afternoon's step up in trip. Apachee Prince clearly merits respect given his effort at Aintree last month but the selection can continue Peter Bowen's fine record at this time of year.

We return to Stratford for our final bet of the day and it's another handicap chase, this time over an extended 17 furlongs (15:55) which commands our attention. Passato is a standing dish around here and looks sure to go well again but Able Deputy has really got his act together as a result of Tony McCoys's urgings in recent times and can complete a four-timer. He won his most recent start in taking fashion  at Worcester three weeks ago and although he won't have the services of the champ this afternoon, promising claimer Ed Cookson takes off a valuable 5lb which will be invaluable in what is probably his toughest assignment to date.
