Belle D'Or is bred in the purple, a half-sister to 2000 Guineas winner Footstepsinthesand, and she has shown plenty of ability during her burgeoning career, shaping well on debut prior to winning her next couple of starts, including a listed race at Sandown last time. She looks to hold excellent claims in the opening one-mile listed race at 13:40. Belle D'Or did well under the circumstances to win at Sandown as the eventual runner-up was given a well-judged ride from the front, dictating the fractions perfectly. It was impressive how Belle D'Or managed to overhaul the resolute Wee Jean, finding plenty under pressure to lead in the final strides, and she is unlikely to be lacking for fitness on her return from a break, bearing in mind the powerful yard she hails from. 

It looks a good renewal of the Joel Stakes at 15:15 but Captain Cat has created a fantastic impression this season, his sole defeat coming when given far too much to do in the Celebration Mile, and he will take all the beating at Newmarket, arriving on the back of an ultra-smooth success at Haydock. Captain Cat has improved in leaps and bounds this term, cruising through his race like a horse that will be capable of making his mark at the highest level, and he can fend off the attentions of a progressive three-year-old in Wannabe Yours, while proven Group 1 performer Tullius is also likely to be on the premises.

Mange All has some very solid three-year-old handicap form to his name and he is deservedly trading as favourite for the Silver Cambridgeshire (17:00). Mange All won a well-contested event over a mile at Ascot on his penultimate start, finding plenty to get up in the shadows of the post, and he progressed again when finding just another lightly-raced horse from the classic generation too strong at Doncaster last time. That effort came over an extended ten furlongs and it could just be that a strongly-run nine furlongs will see Mange All to maximum advantage, making the most of his good cruising speed and resolute response to pressure.
