Timeform bring you bets from Doncaster and Chester on an action-packed Saturday's racing...

There will be plenty of attention on the 14:20 at Chester as it is first leg of a mammoth Scoop6, and hopefully Top of The Glas can get us safely through the opening race. Like so many before him, Top of the Glas has benefited from the switch to the yard of Brian Ellison, winning twice from three starts, the only defeat coming at the hands of a typical Cumani improver at York. Top of The Glas produced his best effort yet to win over C&D last month, storming home to score in ready fashion having met with some interference, and a 7 lb rise looks fair enough given his upwardly-mobile profile. NON-RUNNER

Aljamaaheer looks a class above his rivals in the Park Stakes at Doncaster (15:15) and can capitalise on the drop back to Group 3 level. Twice placed in Group 1 company over a mile last season, Aljamaaheer has been reinvented as a sprinter this term, shaping well on his first couple of outings, including when a never-nearer third in the Diamond Jubilee Stakes, and if he produces his best he should prove very difficult to beat. True, Aljamaaheer was disappointing in the July Cup last time, but has been given a break since, while seven furlongs on a sound surface may prove to be his optimum conditions, so better is expected at Doncaster.

We wait until the final race of the 2014 St Leger Festival (18:05) for our last SmartPlay as we turn to the John Gosden-trained Maverick Wave. Maverick Wave has raced just three times, but he has created a positive impression, winning his sole start as a juvenile before making a winning return to action at Lingfield, staying on strongly in the style of a horse worth following. He was turned over at Newmarket next time but his reputation wasn't damaged, simply beaten by a completely unexposed rival from a top yard, and he remains capable of better.
