The Redcar Straight-Mile Handicap, due off at 14:15, is a fairly competitive affair in which several hold chances, including both Ingleby Angel and Swiftly Done. Preference however is the James Given-trained No Dominion, who isn't the most straightforward and needs things to go his way but has been shaping up well of late and is just the type to take a race of this ilk if things fall in his favour. The four-year-old posted a career-best when second to Swiftly Done on his penultimate outing and was then disadvantaged by being forced to race wide at Pontefract when last seen, travelling powerfully on each occasion. Things must go his way but with several pace horses in opposition that seems likely, and he ought to go very close. 

The Richard Hannon-trained Wentworth showed what he is capable of when everything clicks at Glorious Goodwood, demolishing a competitive field with a powerful surge that took him to the front, and he is well worth a chance to atone for a below-par effort in a Sandown listed race last time, where the very testing conditions offer a plausible excuse. The likes of Ascription, Magic City, Bertiewhittle and Big Johnny D are just a few of his rivals that are of interest but, if back to his best, Wentworth could take some stopping. NON RUNNER

Luca Cumani's Nargys is worthy of the utmost respect in Ascot's finale at 16:25 but, for all that there is no doubting her talent, she has developed something of an all or nothing profile and a safer bet looks to be Enrol. The Sir Michael Stoute-trained four-year-old bounced back to her best when second to Tawhid in a listed event at Newbury last time and a repeat of that effort would probably be enough now back against her own sex.
