Certificate can pass his sternest test yet. He remains open to progress after just five starts, ran well on his reappearance last season, and boasts a similar profile to Eton Forever, who gave Roger Varian the perfect start to his training career when taking this on his return in 2011. Buckstay reappears on a good mark and looks a leading player, with King Torus also considered at bigger odds.

Gabrial's Kaka - 15:45 Doncaster

Gabrial's Kaka ran well in several big-field handicaps last year, landing the Spring Cup at Newbury in April, and he can make a winning start to this campaign, his pilot very good value for a 5-lb claim. Like the selection, GM Hopkins and Zarwaan are drawn high, and should also be in the mix, with the progressive Mange All perhaps the best of those with a single-digit stall position.
