Timeform suggest bets at both Lingfield and Newbury on Saturday...
Your Gifted (13:10) is on quite a lengthy losing run but she has persistently been shaping like a winner in waiting recently, finishing an unlucky second off this mark early last month and then again finishing runner-up, from a 4 lb higher mark than this one, just five days ago. Consistently backing horses with this sort of profile can result in a one-way ticket to the poorhouse but the key with Your Gifted is that she takes a slight drop in grade here, with this being a 0-55 rather than the 0-70s that she has been contesting. She's worth one more chance and can snap her losing streak.
A verteans' chase over three and a quarter miles at Newbury is up next, and it's a decent race containing the likes of former Hennessy Gold Cup winner Carruthers and Burton Port, who finished second in an RSA and fourth in a Gold Cup. Preference however is for Tullamore Dew, who has been running consistently well of late, something which has coincided with more fluent rounds of jumping, and posted another decent effort in defeat at Ascot last time, where he was racing from miles out of the weights. He's back off his correct mark here and is expected to play a big role in the finish.
Back to Lingfield now for our final selection, with Zaeem fancied to score in the 15:25. It's actually quite a competitive race with Cabuchon and Innoko, the latter of whom caught the eye at Kempton last time, holding sound claims but Zaeem, who was a winner for Godolphin at Brighton in 2012, has shaped better than the bare result on his last two outings and could well be poised to strike.
