The Saeed bin Suroor-trained Albasharah lost her unbeaten record when finishing fifth in the Wolferton Handicap at Royal Ascot but very little went right for her that day and she is fancied to bounce back in the Group 2 Lancashire Oaks. The four-year-old produced a smart effort when taking a fillies' handicap at Doncaster on her seasonal return, running out an eight-length winner, after which she was upped 16 lb in the handicap and sent off the 3/1 favourite to taste Royal Ascot success. The suspicion is that she would have gone very close to winning but for being badly hampered 2 furlongs from home, just as she was mounting her challenge, and she was spared a hard race from then on. She remains open to further progress and is certainly one to keep on side. 

Leicester's 16:00 is an interesting race with both Good Authority and Midnight Feast arriving in good heart but it is worth taking a chance on Accession, who has slipped to a dangerous mark and could be poised to strike. The four-year-old hasn't troubled the judge since taking a minor event at this venue in May of last year but he was awarded an opening handicap mark of 95 which has now dropped to 81. He looked to be coming to the boil on his penultimate start at Goodwood before being given an aggressive ride to compensate for a wide draw at Warwick last time. That effort is easy to overlook and, with the potential for a strong pace likely to suit, he could go well. 

The Eclipse Stakes is the main event on Sandown's card but our sole SmartPlay at the Esher venue comes in the 16:25, with Biographer fancied to take the win. The four-year-old, who was included in the Timeform Horses To Follow publication, has long since being marked down as one that would excel when tested over two miles, a distance which he tackles for the first time here. His latest effort, when fourth in a strong handicap at Newmarket, did nothing to dispel that notion and it would come as a surprise were he not to improve now granted a stiffer test of stamina.
