Lady Cecil's Meteoroid looks well handicapped
Lady Cecil's Meteoroid looks well handicapped

"A well-bred, lightly-raced sort, Meteoroid is capable of achieving much more as a three-year-old and he is an interesting proposition from this kind of mark..."

Timeform bring you a bet from three different venues on Easter Saturday...

Heath Hunter was committed for home too soon at Ascot last time, but he remains with plenty of potential and should be backed to make amends in the two-and-a-half mile handicap hurdle at Haydock (14:40). Heath Hunter boasts a smart pedigree - his dam is an unraced sister to Nick Dundee - and he has an impressive strike-rate having won four of his six starts under Rules. He was beaten over 12 lengths into fourth at Ascot in February, but he shaped significantly better than the bare result when ridden too aggressively in a competitive event. David Pipe has sensibly given his charge time to recover from those exertions and he is taken to regain the winning thread.

Godolphin have made a pleasing start to the season and the lightly-raced Zibelina can add to their fortunes by taking the one-mile listed race at Kempton (14:55). Zibelina has just had the four starts, but she has already proven herself to be a smart type, winning her first three outings, including a Group 3 at Deauville. She lost her unbeaten record at Sandown, pulling hard in the early stages which compromised her chances, but she saw plenty of daylight on that occasion and is worth another chance. Charlie Appleby has found a nice opportunity for Zibelina on her return to action and she can take this en route to better things. NON RUNNER

Meteoroid was well held on his handicap debut, beaten six lengths in second place, but his Newbury conqueror, Bow Creek, has developed into a useful performer and Lady Cecil's colt can take advantage of a fair-looking mark in Nottingham's extended one-mile handicap at 18:45. Meteoroid went into plenty of notebooks following a staying-on fourth at Newmarket on his debut, shaping extremely well despite obvious signs of inexperience, and he built on that promising start when getting off the mark at Warwick, winning with more in hand than the bare margin would suggest. A well-bred, lightly-raced sort, Meteoroid is capable of achieving much more as a three-year-old and he is an interesting proposition from this kind of mark.
