We're in Devon either side of our sole bet at Perth. In the 14:40, Velator is on a very workable mark after shaping as though a full-scale revival was imminent starting out for Peter Bowen when third at Market Rasen in August and may prove too strong for the returning Allthekingshorses and Wiesentraum.

Flash Crash (15:20 Perth) looked the likely winner for much of the way when an improved third on last week's Huntingdon handicap bow and should take a bit of stopping over this slightly shorter trip. Solway Dandy has posted a few solid efforts at this venue, including last time, and may provide the main threat ahead of Lucinda Russell's Momkinzain.

Back at Newton Abbot, in their 16:10 Strong Wind is clearly going the right way and should go well, alongside the in-form Bathwick Man, but Provincial Pride also enhanced his upwardly mobile profile when edged out at Huntingdon last week and may prove too strong for that pair with the champion jockey taking over the reins.
