Tim Easterby: Trainer of Choisan.

"Choisan's last win came off a 1 lb lower mark and he shaped well in defeat at Carlisle last time, finding only the relatively unexposed Wadaa too strong..."

After highlighting a winner at a Betfair SP of 7.48162/25 yesterday, Timeform return with their three best bets for this afternoon's racing...

Trinityelitedotcom, who would have been Jofranka's main rival in the 16:15 at Ripon, is now a non-runner but David Barron's filly is still a fair price at 2.915/8 and she looks well worth siding with as she attempts to land her fourth win of the season. The three-year-old is yet to finish out of the first three since taking to Turf in April and ran with plenty of credit when finishing third in decent race at York last time, shaping as though the extended five furlongs was against her that day. The forecast rain will hold no fears for her, as she has scored on soft ground, and she is expected to go well here.

The Tim Easterby-trained Choisan boasts a decent record over C&D, winning once and finishing second on the two other occasions that he has run, and he looks set to return to winning ways in Ripon's 17:15. The four-year-old's last win came off a 1 lb lower mark and he shaped well in defeat at Carlisle last time, finding only the relatively unexposed Wadaa too strong at the finish. Choisan's best form has come with some given in the ground, so he is another that will appreciate the rain, and he certainly looks one to keep on side.

A cursory glance at Lexi's Dancer's form figures would suggest that it is difficult to make a strong case for her shedding her maiden tag in Wolverhampton's 17:30, but she has shown enough to think that she possesses some ability and she could go off at a tasty price. The three-year-old, a half-sister to several winners including 2004 July Stakes winner Captain Hurricane, has found her stamina stretched over 12 furlongs on her final outing for Ed Dunlop in June and over 10 furlongs on her first two starts for new trainer Ian Williams, suggesting that a drop to this extended mile will be in her favour. She remains unexposed and could go close off a lowly mark of 53.
