Bets from Haydock, Newcastle and Chepstow make up Friday's SmartPlays...

A competitive sprint handicap kicks us off at Haydock Park this afternoon (14:00) in which Triple Dream narrowly gets the nod. He's been absent from the track since his win at Newbury in July, in which he took advantage of a generous turf mark with a talented claimer on board for an all-out success. The form of his Newbury win has worked out well with the second, fifth and sixth all going on to score subsequently. He has been raised 4 lb for that performance and, although claimer William Pettis is not on board this time, today's pilot Richard Kingscote has won on him more than any other jockey. They are taken to resume their winning partnership, with Senator Bong heading a long list of dangers.

We head to Newcastle now for a race at the other end of the stamina spectrum, where the well-bred Filia Regina looks to follow up an impressive victory last time as she steps up to two miles (15:40). Her facile victory at Yarmouth last time on her handicap bow suggested there was much more to come, and she is certainly still ahead of the assessor, racing under a penalty here. The extra couple of furlongs is likely to bring about improvement and she can continue her rise through the ranks in what otherwise looks a moderate contest. Petella is nothing if not consistent and may give her most to think about, with Musselburgh winner Lady Gargoyle the best of the rest.

A fiercely competitive six-furlong handicap at Chepstow (16:20) provides our final bet of the day, where Euroquip Boy gets the nod after narrowly going down to the re-opposing Dancing Welcome over C&D last week. The track clearly gets the best out of him, with his sole win coming here in June 2011, and he is taken to reverse last week's placings on the revised terms. Last week's conqueror is obviously respected and heads a long list of dangers, with top weight Verus Delicia also likely to relish today's conditions.
