Timeform head to three different meetings for Friday's best bets...
The majority of the field in Doncaster's 15:45 are relatively exposed with the one exception being White Nile, trained by David Simcock. The four-year-old got off the mark at the second time of asking in a Newcastle maiden last August and then went close on handicap debut at Thirsk the following month. He shaped well on his seasonal return in a competitive handicap at York and possibly wasn't quite over those exertions when running below-form on his most recent outing but, with the step up to a mile and three quarters expected to bring about further improvement, he looks the one to side with.
The Jamie Osbourne-trained Excellent Puck has been in fine form of late, backing up the promise of his Doncaster second with success at Kempton, and having posted a decent effort in defeat at Bath last time he is one to take seriously in Newbury's 16:10. The obvious concern would be the soft ground, but the three-year-old has form on a good to soft surface and ought to be in the thick of things if handling today's conditions.
The final race in the UK today is the 21:00 at Wolverhampton, and it is a difficult one to assess with little separating the field on the Timeform weight-adjusted ratings. However from a price perspective the one that catches the eye as being slightly too big is Testa Rossa, and it is with him that we shall place out faith. The three-year-old hasn't gone on as expected since opening his account at this track in January but he has shown signs of late, including over C&D, that his turn could be near and he is certainly worth considering.
