Timeform's SmartPlays team stay in the North on Friday, selecting SmartPlays from Wetherby and Newcastle.
Vasco d'Ycy - 15:20 Wetherby
Vasco d'Ycy had Midnight Request (dual winner since) back in third when only finding Whiskey Chaser too strong at Carlisle recently, and he can go one place better to break his chasing duck. Greenlaw isn't the most consistent, but he's dropped to a workable mark, and could be the one to chase the selection home. Vinny Gambini holds each-way claims.
Montoya's Son - 15:40 Newcastle
Montoya's Son is a three-time C&D winner, his latest success coming earlier this month, and he can complete the five-timer. And The Man will be a big danger with a clear round (has completed only once in six starts this term) while the thriving De Vous A Moi also merits plenty of respect in his hat-trick bid.
Pearl Castle - 16:15 Newcastle
Pearl Castle was unlucky not to finish closer in the Galway Hurdle on his last start in this sphere, and though lacking a recent run, almost certainly has a bigger performance in him. A tongue tie clearly helped Avidity's finishing effort when runner-up over C&D recently, and he is feared, with Emral Silk a danger if cutting out the mistakes.
