Our first two bets come from Newbury, where we think Cheveley Park Stud could be in for a good day. In the 15:05 their Sea The Bloom holds the strongest claims in what's admittedly a well-contested fillies' handicap. The selection is making her handicap debut having taken four starts to finally succeed in maidens. Her delay in managing a first success presumably makes up part of the reason that she's been given a BHA mark of 75, though it looks to undersell her. Her third in a race that's worked out well at Chepstow a couple of starts back, plus the manner of her win at Carlisle last time are both fairly convincing pieces of evidence that Sea The Bloom is better than a middling mark. Her pedigree too promises better as she develops and few trainers have the same skill in drawing out such improvement as Sir Michael Stoute.

Stoute and Cheveley Park again combine with Enobled, our fancy in the 16:45. It's another competitive heat, though that's reflected in the odds and around 4.57/2 for Enobled strikes us as a little generous. She's lightly raced for a four-year-old, making the track just six times so far. The most recent of those was arguably the best, Enobled meeting trouble and ultimately unlucky not to be more involved in the finish of a good race at Sandown. In off the same mark here, Enobled ought to cope with the longer trip and can go close with a little more luck in running.

We make the trip to Newmarket for our final bet, in their 18:50. It's not the strongest three-year-old handicap we'll see this year, so genuinely interesting sorts such as Dutch Art Dealer stand out all the more. Dutch Art Dealer is the one we're interested in, his runs so far this year hinting at something bigger to come. He was given an easy time of it over this C&D on his reappearance, still managing fifth, then shaped well over a mile at Ascot, seeming to find the trip just stretching him. Back under suitable conditions and in an easier race, this could be Dutch Art Dealer's day.
