Milo Milan failed to progress after making a winning return in this contest last year (13:30 Bangor), but he has consequently slipped back in the weights and makes his seasonal reappearance from just a 6 lb higher mark than the one he comfortably defied last year. Given the clear-cut nature of that win, Milo Milan looks like he is well treated and he has obvious claims here, particularly with his stable faring so well of late.
The 14:10 at Exeter looks like a good opportunity for Captain Sunshine to open his account for the season. The Emma Lavelle-trained gelding shaped with conspicuous promise on more than a couple of occasions last term, signing off for the summer with back-to-back wins. There were plenty of positives to take from his reappearance run at Cheltenham, travelling well for a long way before fading up the hill to finish sixth; the fact his yard are in better form now is an undoubted positive.
An above-average performer on the Flat, Moidore (14:30 Bangor) made a promising introduction over hurdles at Aintree recently, finishing third in what turned out to be a rather attritional contest. He displayed a good attitude in the closing stages, rallying strongly to close on a pair of tiring rivals, and providing he has recovered from those exertions there is no reason why John Quinn's three-year-old can't get off the mark in this sphere.
