Fakenham 12:50 - Shinooki

The first selection runs in the opening race at Fakenham, a handicap hurdle over two-and-a-half miles in the shape of Shinooki. He swerved a deeper race than this one at Plumpton on Monday and that decision should pay dividends given his profile is easily the most compelling of today's field on return from a break. He landed a serious touch on his second handicap start at Uttoxeter in May but showed that was no fluke when putting in a fair effort under a penalty at Market Rasen a month later. Providing he is ready to go having had some time off, he looks the most likely winner although any market support for Stags Leap should be noted. 

Musselburgh 14:30 - Dun To Perfection

We head north for the next contest under consideration, a handicap hurdle over an extended three miles and Dun To Perfection has to be the call given the significant improvement he's shown in recent starts. He registered his second success in this sphere at Hexham in May when he ran out a wide-margin winner. Although he received a 13 lb rise for that performance he went on to back it up when finishing runner-up at Kelso in September. One For Hocky is a threat if handling the step up to three miles and Another Dimension remains well handicapped on old form, but its hoped the selection can account for both of them and put in another bold bid.

Wolverhampton 19:40 - Maverick Wave

Our final bet of the day comes in a 9 furlong handicap from Wolverhampton in which Maverick Wave looks the best bet by a mile. He scored on Lingfield's polytrack in July and returns to the all-weather after finding only the thriving Bronze Angel too strong in a valuable Ascot handicap last month. These aren't quite the heady surroundings of British Champions' Day and considering he's only gone up 3 lb for that effort and has shown he handles the surface, he is a very confident selection to end our night in the best possible way. In truth it would be no surprise to see him rout the field, for all that Ginger Jack and Solar Deity are respected.
