"New Rich has run well with blinkers fitted the last twice and won this exact race in 2013 - he looks the one to keep on side..."

Timeform bring you their three best bets from Ludlow and Kempton on Wednesday...

Ludlow 14:10 - Roll The Dice

We kick off proceedings with the valuable Boyne Cup handicap chase over an extended 25 furlongs and providing Roll The Dice is in the same fluent form as in recent starts, he could be the answer. He has won twice over fences but lost his way towards the end of last season. Since returning at Exeter in October however he has looked a much more willing participant, including when recently overhauled close home having been given an enterprising ride at the aforementioned Devon venue. The form he showed there entitles him to be very competitive in this contest and he is taken to continue his fine run and record his first win of the season.

Ludlow 15:10 - Mac Bertie

We remain at Ludlow for the next contest under consideration, a novices' handicap hurdle for conditional jockeys over 21 furlongs. The one for our money is Mac Bertie, who looked set to run his best race to date when falling at Chepstow in September and if none the worse for that experience looks primed for another bold bid. That was over three miles and the drop back in trip is sure to be in his favour this afternoon. He remains unexposed in this sphere and it's hoped he can use that edge to his advantage, although the likes of Under The Phone and Miss Lucky Penny both merit respect.

Kempton 19:20 - New Rich

We head to Kempton for our final bet of the day, which comes in a six-furlong handicap in which New Rich looks the one to keep on side. He has run well with blinkers fitted the last twice and won this exact race in 2013. That represented his third C&D win, and he confirmed his well being with a very creditable second at Lingfield 12 days ago off the back of a break. He was left less than ideall placed on that occasion and taking that into account it was a very satisfactory return to action. It is likely he has been primed for a repeat bid at this race so despite him shouldering top weight he is taken to make it back-to-back wins in this contest.
