Overlord was a major eye-catcher on his seasonal reappearance at Thirsk, staying on powerfully under a sympathetic ride having been set plenty to do, and he duly built on the promise of that effort when scoring cosily at Nottingham last time. Overlord looked to have plenty in hand on that occasion, needing just nudging out to secure the victory, and he should have more to offer in handicaps.

Wolverhampton 16:50 - Malaf

Malaf showed that he wasn't the finished article when finishing only fourth on handicap debut at Nottingham, but he had won in the style of a good prospect on debut here, and he's likely to prove much better than this mark of 77 on time. Malaf was undone by the steady gallop at Nottingham, taking time to knuckle down, but he's sure to derive tremendous benefit for the experience and ought to prove tough to beat.

Kempton 20:30 - High Secret

The promising High Secret has progressed steadily through the handicap ranks, successful four times from six starts outside of maiden company, including at Chelmsford last time, and he can notch up another victory. Expertly handled by Sir Mark Prescott, High Secret has shown run-to-run progress in handicaps and, with the step up to two miles likely to suit, he can stay ahead of the handicapper for a while yet.
