Chester 15:15 - Eastern Impact

Eastern Impact posted a career-best effort when finishing third in the July Cup last month and he will prove tough to beat if running to a similar level here. He may have been sent off at 50/1 for that Newmarket Group 1, but there's no suggestion of a fluke about the performance, his profile one of steady progress. Portamento and Intransigent are obvious dangers but the likeable and in-form Eastern Impact gets the nod.

Chepstow 17:15 - Man Look

Man Look raced too freely to do himself justice in a strong handicap at Salisbury last time, but he remains with more potential than most of his largely-exposed rivals in this weaker event and can get back on the right track. The unexposed Man Look boasts a decent pedigree and he showed clear signs of ability when winning a Lingfield maiden on his second start. He's since shown even better form in finishing fourth in a competitive Newbury handicap on his penultimate start and a repeat of that kind of form might be good enough.

Chester 17:25 - Adele

The Mark Johnston-trained Adele has failed to win in six starts, but she did produce her best effort to date when finishing runner-up on handicap debut at Ripon last time, and she wouldn't be the first horse from her yard to suddenly take off now that her stamina has been tested. That Ripon effort was Adele's first attempt at a mile and a half and she retains the potential for further improvement over this kind of trip.
