It's Derby Day on Saturday and Timeform have found the three best bets on the Epsom card, including one in the big race...
Epsom 15:10 - Dolniya
Dolniya did nothing but improve last year, signing off for the season with a fifth to Treve in the Arc. She narrowly beat Flintshire in a minor event at Chantilly before beating him even more comfortably when landing a Group 1 at Meydan, and is expected to confirm the form. Indeed, Dolniya may yet do even better, still relatively lightly raced for a four-year-old.
Epsom 15:45 - Seeking Magic
This is unsurprisingly an ultra-competitive contest, but Seeking Magic looks particularly interesting given he's on a lower mark than when finishing a close-up second in last year's renewal, and, while a middle draw isn't ideal, he still makes plenty of appeal, likely to have come on enormously for his comeback run at Newmarket. Perfect Muse and Barnet Fair look the pick of the dangers, but Seeking Magic is a well-handicapped horse and should be backed.
Epsom 16:30 - Golden Horn
Golden Horn's win in the Dante is easily the best form on offer and John Gosden's unbeaten three-year-old is expected to prove too good for his rivals. Golden Horn created a tremendous impression when winning his only start as a juvenile, clocking an impressive sectional as he displayed a remarkable turn of foot, and he's handled everything thrown at him this year, starting out with a comfortable win at Newmarket before easily winning a strong renewal of the Dante. Stamina is the obvious question Golden Horn has to answer, but he wasn't stopping at York, while his ability to settle will also help. He's a top-class colt in the making and will be tough to beat.
