Scent of Summer - 14:25 Bath

Thirsk maiden winner Scent of Summer hasn't been seen to best effect either start in handicaps, and it would come as a surprise if she didn't have a bigger performance in her. She gets the nod, with Excellent George and Kinematic two others to consider.

Captain Gerald - 14:55 Bath

Captain Gerald upped his game when finding only a well-handicapped sort too strong at Chelmsford last week, and with his pedigree offering plenty of hope that the step up in trip will suit, he could well be the answer. Not So Gentle is clearly an intriguing runner tackling a more suitable trip in headgear, while Goodknight Percy will bounce back at some stage.

Celestial Path - 16:05 Bath

Celestial Path's absence since finishing fifth in the 2000 Guineas on reappearance has to be a slight concern, but he sets a good standard and is open to plenty of progress, so has to be the call in this grade. Algaith has work to do on these terms, but is going the right way, while Mustadeem is a definite threat on the pick of his form.
