Fellow seven-year-old Clondaw Knight rates a clear next best, with the others all arriving on the back of a below-par effort.

Padge - 15:15 Ascot

Padge gives the impression he has a much bigger performance in him under Rules, so can find the required improvement to make a successful handicap debut in what could be a hot race despite the field size. Unique de Cotte's revised mark is very fair, but the fitting of a tongue tie is slightly disconcerting given his profile, so Rolling Star is feared most given his record fresh.

Ma Filleule - 15:50 Ascot

In receipt of the mares allowance, Ma Filleule is just about the form pick, and her latest Aintree run suggests she will be spot on for this. The novice Ptit Zig has made a faultless start to his chasing career and is clearly open to further progress, with Balder Succes another key player.
