"...sets the clear standard in this field and it would be a huge shock were she not to make it three from three for the season."

Timeform on Love

13:45 - SACRED (7) looked a good prospect in making a winning debut at Newmarket in June, and she confirmed as much in running to a near smart level to finish second in the Queen Mary at Royal Ascot last time, producing a performance good enough to win several past renewals of the race. The step up to six furlongs should show her to even better advantage and she is the clear one to beat.

14:15 - UNCLE JUMBO (20) made a promising start to his career despite being sent off the outsider of the field at Doncaster in June, clued up enough to lead and battling on gamely to get back in front once headed. The runner-up finished second in a listed race subsequently, and with improvement expected, Uncle Jumbo looks a big player.

14:45 - TOP RANK's (7) impressive return to action at Thirsk last month took his winning tally to four from four, and he could hardly have done it in better style, looking potentially smart as he took apart a field of established handicappers. He is up 12 lb for that win but will go on improving and is the one to beat as he bids to make it five in a row.

15:15 - LOVE (5) showed much improved form in winning the 1000 Guineas at Newmarket on her return, and she progressed further still to double her classic tally in the Oaks last time, relishing the extra distance and putting up one of the best performances seen in the race this century. She sets the clear standard in this field and it would be a huge shock were she not to make it three from three for the season.

15:45 - ALBAFLORA (7) made plenty of appeal on paper and ran to a useful level in making a successful debut at Haydock in June, pushed out to get the better of a couple of next-time-out winners. She wasn't able to handle a much more experienced rival when second in the Group 3 Musidora Stakes here last time, but emerged as probably the best prospect in the field, just not enjoying the run of things the winner had. She is highly likely to sharpen up further for that run, and with this step up in trip sure to suit, she gets the vote to regain the winning thread.

16:20 - MAYAAS (5) offered something to work on amid inexperience on debut, and he built on the promise of that effort to finish a close third in a strong Ascot maiden last month, shaping as though he would benefit from the emphasis more on stamina. With that in mind, this step up to seven furlongs should eke out further progress, and this well-bred son of Dark Angel looks to have been handed a lenient opening mark ahead of his handicap debut.

16:50 - LAWAHEAD (6) found only one too good in a couple of warm races at the beginning of her career, and she didn't need to better that form to get off the mark in visually impressive style at Haydock last time, travelling well and quickening clear over a furlong out, winning with plenty in hand. She is open to plenty of improvement and her opening mark looks a fair one, so she is expected to be bang there on her first foray into handicap company.
