Billyfairplay may not be the flashiest horse, but his consistency certainly cannot be knocked, hitting the frame in each of his five runs since the resumption of racing. He ran creditably to finish third in a big-field handicap at Cork last time, keeping on, and a deserved first success on turf is surely in the offing.

Kipling - 18:45 Roscommon

Bred in the purple - by Galileo out of a dam who was a Grade 3 winner in America - Kipling shaped with plenty of encouragement amid clear inexperience on debut last year, beaten only by stablemate and subsequent Irish 2000 Guineas third Lope Y Fernandez. He failed to step up on that effort when fifth at Newmarket last July, but he has had plenty of time to grow over the last year and it is still early days with him, and with his pedigree meaning he could still take off at any stage, he looks difficult to oppose on his reappearance.
