Timeform on Chil Chil

13:00 - FITZROVIA (7) was well backed at Bath last time and shaped as if back in form, not seen to best effect after suffering a troubled passage against the rail near two furlongs out. He remains on a fair mark and holds leading claims with a little more luck in running.

13:35 - BLACKCURANTSPANGLE (7) ran his best race yet when sixth at Windsor last time, travelling better than most of those out the back and ultimately shaping encouragingly from a poor position. He remains capable of better and makes plenty of appeal now sent handicapping.

14:10 - Purchased for 1,000,000 guineas as a yearling, MAHOMES (7) makes plenty of appeal on paper ahead of his debut, a Dubawi colt out of multiple Group 1 winner The Fugue. John Gosden's debutants have been in good form of late as well, with the master trainer's last two new comers both going in at the first time of asking, so Mahomes is definitely one to keep on side.

14:40 - LIGHT REFRAIN (7) is bred to be useful, and after looking badly in need of the experience on debut, she looked a lot more professional on her second outing, again showing plenty of ability as she finished a close fourth at Doncaster last month. She is likely to improve again and, up against a field of newcomers, she is the one they all have to beat.

15:10 - TIME SCALE (14) won at listed level on Newmarket's Rowley course in June, following up her previous success, and she was only beaten ¾ length into fourth on the July course last time, perhaps not having things all her own way on the latter occasion either. That form has been boosted a few times since and Ralph Beckett's charge may yet have more to offer, so she gets the vote to take this step up to Group level in her stride.

15:40 - CHIL CHIL (2) was progressive last year and, after shaping encouragingly on her return to action, she resumed winning ways at Ascot last month, scoring in the style of one that'll prove up to listed or even minor pattern races. She is destined for better things and can make light work of a 9 lb rise in the weights.

16:15 - REIMS (5) showed signs of ability in her three runs for William Haggas last season and, after making the switch to Daniel and Claire Kubler's yard, shaped well on her reappearance at Wolverhampton last time, going well when getting the gap over a furlong out but just unable to quicken. She is bred to be way better than this mark and is likely to produce a much better effort with the freshness out of her.

16:50 - NASRAAWY (11) has improved with each run and, despite not looking wholly straightforward on his handicap debut at Yarmouth last time, he did pull clear of the remainder as he found just one too good for the third successive start. He has undergone a gelding operation since, so that may serve to calm him down somewhat, and it would not be a surprise were he to take another step forward and get off the mark at the fourth attempt.
