12:45 - PERFECT TIMES (1) overcame experience to make a winning debut at Kempton last month, appearing to have a bit left up her sleeve as she stayed on to lead inside the final furlong. She carries a penalty for that success but sets the standard here and is the clear one to beat.
13:15 - CITRON MAJOR (4) seemed to be just going through the motions since the resumption of racing but, in a change of headgear, he bounced back to his best when landing the odds over this course and distance last month, winning with a bit in hand. A 5 lb rise in the weights seems fair and another bold showing is anticipated.
13:45 - HENLEY (4) was below form when seventh at Pontefract last month but had shown signs of encouragement on his return to racing at Thirsk prior to that run, racing solo against the stand rail and going with zest until lack of an outing told. It is probably best to excuse his more recent effort and he makes plenty of appeal from a career-low mark.
14:20 - INNSE GALL (2) has shaped promisingly on both her outings to date, including when third at Ayr last time, not getting the smoothest passages through in a race that hardly showed him to best effect, but keeping on well under considerate handling all the same. His opening mark does not look beyond him, and with further improvement a possibility, he looks worth siding with.
14:50 - GRACEFUL LADY (6) hinted at a revival when fourth in a Beverly handicap last time and she has a good chance here on the pick of her form. She is back down to her last winning mark so is well worth considering. CLEARANCE (4) resumed winning ways with victory at Musselburgh last time, value for extra, too, given he had to overcome unfavourable circumstances. That was his third win from just five starts on the Flat since joining Iain Jardine's yard and an 8 lb hike may not be enough to stop him going close again.
15:20 - FISHABLE (5) is an improving colt who scored readily on his handicap debut over this course and distance last month, proving suited by the step up in trip as he quickened clear to score in impressive fashion. He must contend with a 7 lb rise for that win but is capable of better and is taken to go in again.
15:50 - ST GALLEN (1) ran well on his return to action when second on the Flat at Kempton in June, and he showed the benefit of that outing when resuming winning ways over hurdles at Southwell last time, taking his tally to three wins from five runs since joining Olly Murphy's yard. He is just 2 lb higher here than when last seen on the level, and with a subsequent win behind him, he looks the one to aim at.
16:20 - This looks a great opportunity for FINELY TUNED (5) to belatedly get off the mark. The son of Gleneagles has been doing little wrong in defeat, including when unlucky to bump into two progressive sorts at Haydock last time, pulling nicely clear of the rest though. William Buick takes over in the saddle today and should be able to steer Finely Tuned to his maiden success.
