Timeform take you through the card at Pontefract on Friday...
12:15 - ANCIENT TIMES (2) showed plenty to work with on debut when third in a minor event at York, the dueling pair in front ensuring there was no hiding place, for all that Kevin Ryan's charge has the potential to progress pass them both. He should come on plenty for the run and is taken to open his account with improvement anticipated.
12:45 - KINGMANIA (6) was just about the pick on looks and very much caught the eye when sixth on debut at Newbury last month, given a considerate introduction to racing and doing her best work late on. She is open to significant improvement, as indicated by the Timeform large 'P' attached to her rating, and this could be a good opportunity for her to open her account.
13:15 - INEXES (2) returned to form when second at Hamilton last time, travelling smoothly but unable to make an impression on the winner. Ivan Furtardo's charge is back down to a winning mark now and is likely to find a race like this falling his way before too long.
13:45 - ARAIFJAN (8) shaped better than the distance beaten suggests when sixth at this venue last time, the quintet who beat him all drawn six or lower, whereas he was stuck out in ten. He hasn't had much luck in his three handicaps this year and isn't one to give up on, particularly now stepped up to six furlongs.
14:20 - STAR IN THE MAKING (1) ran well on her first two outings of the campaign, proving herself to be useful whilst looking like she still has something to learn. She failed to build on those efforts when fifth at Newmarket last time, possibly doing a little too much too soon and not given a hard time of it once her chance had gone, but this drop back to six furlongs could help and she needs considering.
14:50 - SHADES OF BLUE (5) finished runner-up in this race last year and she shaped as though back in form when fourth in the Group 3 Summer Stakes at York last time. The visor goes on for the first time here and she's the one to beat on the pick of her form.
15:20 - REVOLVER (4) is thriving this season, winning five times from his five races, including when landing the odds at Sandown last week, value for a good bit extra over the result too as he settled the race in a matter of strides coming from the rear in a steadily-run race. He's shaping as though we're some way from seeing the best of him, and this looks a good opportunity for him to go in again under a penalty, with the stiffer test expected to suit.
15:50 - TAWREED (11) made plenty of appeal on paper ahead of her debut at Yarmouth last month and she duly shaped with bags of encouragement by the end, running on. She is likely to sharpen up significantly for that experience and seems sure to do much better and win a race of this nature sooner rather than later.
16:20 - KITTEN'S DREAM (8) showed much improved form to finish second on his handicap debut, residual inexperience just costing him in the finish, and he didn't need to improve on that to land his first win, looking suited by the step up in trip at Beverley last time. He is still not yet the finished article, and with better still to come, he rates the one to beat.
