"...is sure to improve and this looks a good opportunity for him..."
Timeform on Forever Forward
13:30 - FOREVER FORWARD (3) made a promising debut when runner-up at Sandown last month, looking more of a stayer than might have been expected from elements of his pedigree, just needing another stride to get up. He is sure to improve and this looks a good opportunity for him to go one better.
14:00 - SUSUCARU (3) clearly knew her job on debut and only went down to one who'd had the benefit of a previous run, and she was again unlucky to bump into one when runner-up for the second time at Thirsk last month. She proved to be a disappointment switched to the all-weather at Wolverhampton recently, but she can be forgiven that run and is a leading player on form of her first two outings.
14:30 - MONZA CITY (5) had finished last in a rather muddling Newmarket novice on her penultimate start, but that form is working out better than it looked like it might, and she boosted it herself when runner-up at Glorious Goodwood last month. There's stamina on her dam's side, but she looked pretty speedy at Goodwood, so the drop back to six furlongs should hold no fears, and a bold bid is expected from Mark Johnston's filly.
15:00 - HARRY'S RIDGE (6) ran his best race when finding only a gambled-on winner too good at Redcar last time, pulling clear of the remainder. He is proving a little expensive to follow bit remains a low-mileage five-year-old and he arrives here in excellent form, so looks worth one more chance to belatedly open his account.
15:30 - ALBEN SPIRIT (5) found improvement when third at Doncaster last month, faring best of those ridden prominently, and he can race from the same mark here. He is still lightly-raced and should be up to winning a contest at this level.
16:00 - SORREL (4) shaped encouragingly after eight months off when third at Goodwood, not seen to best effect in a tactical race, and she showed improvement to finish a close second at Newbury last time, well positioned on the face of it but likely to have benefitted from a greater emphasis on stamina. With that in mind, this step up in trip should show her to better advantage, and she looks the one to be on with further progress anticipated.
16:30 - An athletic sort with a superb pedigree, STUNNING BEAUTY (3) knew her job well and looked useful first time up, quickening clear to run out an easy four-length winner at Newmarket last month. That form has been boosted since, and Saeed bin Suroor's charge looks capable of better herself, perhaps significantly so, so she is impossible to oppose on just her second start.
17:00 - FURQAAN (11) was well backed on her turf debut at Windsor last month and she showed improved form to get off the mark, well positioned towards the rail but having to weave a way through. A 4 lb rise for that win looks fair, and with Ian Williams's yard back amongst the winners after something of a dry spell, another bold showing is on the cards from Furqaan.
