"...not hard to envisage him bouncing right back to form under Danny Redmond, who is 2/2 on him..."
Timeform take you through the card at Bath on Thursday evening...
15:55 - PEARL OF WISDOM (6) makes some appeal on pedigree and is worth chancing in a race where the bar isn't set all that high by those with experience. Master of Brazil, who has been placed on all three starts to date, should be thereabouts again, and Eagles Dare is one to note following his promising debut.
16:25 - BALGAIR (1) is on a good mark and looked ready to capitalise when a narrow third at Newmarket last time, never nearer having had to weave his way through. As such, he gets the nod for the in-form Tom Clover yard (six winners from last 24 runners), with recent Newbury-scorer Tell William fancied to emerge as the chief threat in a race where most of the others have something to prove.
17:00 - PROFESSOR GALANT (8) showed a fair bit when fifth of 14 at Newbury first time up and has leading claims on that form in this company. The Golden Unicorn was beaten only by a subsequent winner in a C&D maiden on debut seven weeks ago and rates the main threat if handling the preliminaries better than he did when backed for a race here on July 18th (withdrawn after getting upset in the stalls).
17:30 - ONEBABA (2) didn't have a hard time at Chepstow returning from five months off and has been given a chance by the handicapper since, so he could be worth chancing in a weak race. Q Twenty Boy seemed amiss last time but would be a player if back to the form he was showing previously.
18:00 - ALBA DEL SOLE (7) has been in excellent form this summer and shaped better than the distance beaten suggests at Leicester 11 days ago, so remains of interest. Storm Melody is a three-time C&D winner and caught the eye here last time, while Catheadans Fury has dipped below her last winning mark and should strip fitter for her return.
18:30 - BAL MAL (2) came up short in his quest for the 5-timer at Goodwood a fortnight ago, but that was a much higher grade of handicap and it's not hard to envisage him bouncing right back to form under Danny Redmond, who is 2/2 on him. Spurofthemoment can have her last run overlooked and rates a big threat, along with Shoot To Kill.
19:00 - ZAYRIYAN (3) wasn't seen to best effect when fourth at Lingfield last time, meeting trouble and left poorly placed the way the race went, doing well under the circumstances to be beaten only two and a quarter lengths. He is 1 lb lower here and looks to hold sound claims if ready to go after five months on the sidelines. Songo, who is also returning from an absence, and the race-fit Savanna Gold head the list of dangers.
19:30 - DERRY BOY (1) backed up last month's C&D win with an excellent second at Lingfield a week ago, and he will surely give it another very good shot from the same mark. Tiger Zone was disappointing at Windsor but is capable of a bold bid if reacting well to headgear, while Kashmirella is well worth a try over this trip.
20:00 - SINGING THE BLUES (1) arrives at the top of his game and still looks on a fair mark as he goes for the hat-trick. Champs de Reves was left with a lot to do at Sandown three weeks ago and is back down to his last winning mark, while Agent Basterfield probably needed the run at Sandown after a year off and better can be expected now.
