Sunday Horse Racing ACCA Tips: Back a 4/1 Multi including a big run from Kalpana in the Arc

Andy Robson has a Sunday Racing Multiple to consider

Andy Robson has consulted his horse racing expert to find a four-fold Sunday ACCA, with the bet combining for a [4/1] Betfair Sportsbook Multiple...

Leg #1 - Uttoxeter, 12:51: Country Mile to Win @ 1/41.25

In what appears to be a match between two talented chasers, I'm siding with the Dan Skelton-trained Country Mile. The son of Ocovango is a dual hurdle winner, officially rated 137 in that sphere. He ran a fair second on chase debut here, prior to a fourth at Cheltenham's Showcase fixture last October. A reproduction of either of those runs should be good enough, despite facing a credible opponent.

However, the ex-Willie Mullins-trained O'Moore Park has excellent form over much longer trips than this two-mile distance. He is likely to be out of his comfort zone, back over this minimum trip, which ought to suit my selection perfectly.

Leg #2 - Uttoxeter, 14:36: Larzac to Finish Top 2 @ 4/91.44

Larzac holds leading claims in this moderate maiden hurdle over two miles. The recent Faye Bromley switcher has competed in Group One jumping races for Willie Mullins, including in the G1 Triumph Hurdle at Cheltenham.

With his sights considerably lowered, this looks the ideal introductory hurdle contest on stable debut. He can at least challenge for a placing, against a field of mainly inexperienced rivals.

Leg #3 - Longchamp, 15:05: Kalpana to Finish Top 3 @ 8/131.61

The four-time Group One winner, Kalpana, aims to give Juddmonte another huge win in the G1 Prix de l'arc de Triomphe. She is capable of following in the hoofprints of previous Khallid Abdullah/Juddmonte-owned winners: Rainbow Quest, Dancing Brave, Rail Link, Workforce, Enable and Bluestocking.

Kalpana ran better than her seventh suggests in this race last season. She was caught at least three wide, throughout, and she came with a good-looking challenge, before just tiring late. She arguably arrives in stronger form this year, and I believe she is capable of reaching a placing.

Leg #4 - Curragh, 15:40: Carla Ridge to Finish Top ? @ 4/51.80

Carla Ridge is a course and distance winner, who scored impressively at this level two starts ago. That whopping 10-length breeze came on soft-to-heavy ground, but her sole start this season suggests that was no fluke, running a fair sixth at Group-level.

A reproduction of that performance could be good enough to land this easier assignment, and she is still not fully exposed as a sprinter.
